The Addiction of Revenge

So here is the burning question that many people are asking as it relates to getting over stuff….HOW!? How do you get over the hurt that is perpetrated against you? Actually it is a step by step process. The other steps mean nothing unless you get the venom out of your own system. Getting over hurt begins with getting the venom out. The venom is that nasty thing called revenge. Revenge reminds me of drinking hard liquor for the first time…you think in your mind that it’s what you want. It even feels good at the beginning. But after some time goes by, and you consume more, it does nothing but makes you sick physically and embarrasses you emotionally. But it kills you slowly from the inside out. The one thing that you have to be careful of is not allowing others to give you another drink of the venom after you have sobered up. Be careful of what goes into your system after you have started sobering up. What comes in your system could kill you slowly. Revenge is intoxicating. It is enticing. But revenge is not designed to be in our system. There is only one system strong enough to handle revenge without jeopardizing love….the original system…the system where we came from. Remember Romans 12:19…. “…..Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”
